The root chakra, located at the base of the spine, is our foundation, our connection to the earth, and our source of stability and security. When our root chakra is in balance, we feel grounded, safe, and supported. We feel a sense of belonging and abundance in our lives.
We are also able to manifest alot better, we are able to take our dreams and desires from intuition to seeing it in reality.
But when our root chakra is blocked or imbalanced, we won’t be feeling a sense of belonging or abundance.
Signs of an imbalanced root chakra
However, when the root chakra is out of balance, you will start to feel the following:
- Feeling ungrounded, anxious, or insecure
- Having difficulty trusting others
- Feeling disconnected from the earth
- Experiencing financial problems
- Feeling stuck in a rut
Are you in the right mindset for manifesting?
Ways to balance your root chakra
- Spend time in nature. Get your feet on the ground, literally! Go for a walk, hike, or sit under a tree.
- Practice grounding exercises. Visualization is a powerful tool. Imagine a cord of energy running from your root chakra to the center of the earth.
- Do yoga poses that focus on the root chakra. These poses include Mountain Pose, Tree Pose, and Warrior II Pose.
- Eat grounding foods. These foods include root vegetables, nuts, and seeds.
- Affirm your worth. Say positive affirmations to yourself every day, such as “I am safe” and “I am abundant.”
Recently, I attended a healing session that involved a very thorough cleansing of all my chakra centres.I started with the root chakra and what I channelled was interesting and perhaps you may resonate with it:
- Focus on nurturing. It could be nurturing people at work, your family/friends, your email subscribers, yourself, plants/animals you are looking after, a community. Channel your energies there this year, it will pay off
- Structure your life. The root chakra is all about structures and growth. Think about plants and roots, when they grow in a particular direction and are tamed, they grow well, they get to where they want to be. When you have the right structures in your life, and you plan the important things, you may find that life progresses in a way that you want. You find yourself moving forward, enlarging your capacity to get things done, to be resilient. You will find that you have alot more time available.
Here are some specific practices for cultivating a sense of belonging and abundance in your life
- Connect with your tribe. Make time for the people who make you feel loved and supported.
- Practice gratitude. Take some time each day to appreciate the things you have in your life.
- Give back to others. Helping others is a great way to feel connected to something larger than yourself.
- Embrace your uniqueness. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Celebrate your individuality.
- Live in the present moment. Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future. Focus on enjoying the here and now.
When your root chakra is in balance, you will feel grounded, secure, and abundant. You will feel a sense of belonging to the world around you. You will be able to trust yourself and others. And you will be open to receiving all that life has to offer.
