What is freedom to you? Define it.
In much of my work with clients, and in my own personal healing journey the past 10+ years, the biggest barrier that keeps us from being who we want to be and from leading the life we really want – is the fear of judgment from others and the lifelong programming and beliefs that have been perpetuated by society, authority figures, peers (who bring their own programming) and the particular culture you live in.
It is so darn difficult to 1) get an awareness that you are under the influence of your environment/where you grew up in/people in your life and, 2) gain the courage and confidence to break out of that influence and keep choosing a life that you want for yourself. Also, 3) Most people do not really know what they want for themselves, so it’s easier to just follow others; just drift along, you will get somewhere eventually, right?
Not really. When you just drift along and follow everyone else, it’s when you start to experience things like quarter-life or mid-life crisis, regrets on your deathbed, regrets at various points in your life etc. Yes, the windows of opportunity in life are endless, but for some things, once that window closes, it’s gone forever.
The days are long, the years are short. Life feels like, is – a contradictory bundle of being very long and very short at the same time. The years stretch out in front of you but when you look back you realise how short they were.
Now, you may be very content with the life that you currently lead. But most of us struggle with at least one thing. Think about it – what is something about yourself/your life that you feel needs transforming? Or you’ve been working on it – for years – and it hasn’t shown much progress?
If you feel like you are constantly in this 1 step forward 2 steps back sort of progress with your personal development, don’t beat yourself up on it, it’s normal! But is actually a reason why I don’t always employ traditional personal growth “techniques” when trying to better myself. There’s only so many goal setting books, self-care rituals and habit frameworks that work. The thing is – you gotta really take the time to get to know yourself better, and over the years, in my own work with myself and with my clients, I’ve always counted on a couple of energy clearing and nervous system regulation strategies to really get to the root of myself – of who I am and what I want.
Sometimes, traditional personal growth doesn’t work because of how surface-level it can be. It never really quite goes deep. But a lot of these other energy-clearing and nervous system regulation strategies go really deep. They tap on your intuition and your inner wisdom to open up new possibilities to you – solutions, ideas, experiences that your limited, conscious human mind would have never dreamt up. I use alot of these tools in my personal consults with clients and would like to offer them to you – completely for free – to go off and use them in any way you see fit. It also gives you a glimpse into how alot of my consultations start off, because I use this toolkit alot with clients. Just put in your details below and it will be with you in a jiffy!
