The strength of your relationships is one of the strongest predictors of happiness. Our social bonds help us to weather difficult times and to make the good times even better. However, it’s all too easy to take people for granted and to forget how lucky we are to have them.
In this next exercise, you’ll pick a specific person you’re grateful for and write a short paragraph on the specific things about them that you appreciate most. This trains your brain to focus on the positive aspects of your relationships, helps you to be a better friend, and ultimately strengthens the relationship.
Who are you grateful for?
Pick a specific person who you are grateful to have in your life – it could be anyone – from a family member, a close friend or even just an acquaintance. What do you appreciate most about them? Write a short paragraph on why you’re grateful to have them in your life.
